(Agencia Estatal Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas). The
Centre was created with the following main objectives:
- To foster scientific excellence at international level in the fields of robotics and automation with a clear focus on applied research.
- To coordinate and lead research and development activities in the aforementioned areas.
- To promote cooperation with the industrial sector by development of appropriated technology transfer mechanisms and.
- To encourage establishment of required links with society to demonstrate the benefits of adopting an independent and reliable scientific knowledge based management.

and the premises of the ETSII of the UPM (Madrid). The CAR
will
be moved in the next years to the new premises that are planned for the
Alcobendas site (North of Madrid).
