Experience of María del Carmen García-Alegre Sánchez
Maria C. Garcia-Alegre is a staff scientist in the Centre for Automation and Robotics (CAR), Spanish National Research Council (CSIC)- Technical University of Madrid (UPM) in Madrid since 1990. She received a Ph.D. degree in Physics at the University of La Laguna, Tenerife in 1983, where she held a permanent position as an Assistant Professor. She was a visiting Professor at the Applied Machine Intelligence & Robotics Laboratory at Drexel University, Philadelphia in 1992 doing research on hierarchical architectures for intelligent perception and control. Participant and leader of European and National Research Projects related to Mobile Autonomous Robots, Fuzzy Logic and Knowledge based Systems, Perceptual and Cognitive Architectures and Artificial Vision Systems.
Currently she is engaged in several projects related to Energy Efficiency in buildings and transport and Fuel Cells and Hydrogen production from organic waste electrolysis. She is a member of several
professional societies, such as EUSFLAT, EUNITE, BISC and HISPAROB. Her work has been published in professional journals, books and conferences proceedings.
