Global Robot Expo 2017

Once again this year, the Centre for Automation and Robotics (CAR) will participate actively in Global Robot Expo 2017.

The international exhibition for robotic and related technologies will be held in Madrid the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of February 2017.

Award to the best comunication at JA2016-GRob by Robotnik

Researchers from the CAR-CSIC/UPM center received the Award to the best comunication at “Jornadas de Auomática 2016” held from 7th-9th of September in Madrid. The awarded work was entitled “EVALUACIÓN DE UN SISTEMA DE RADIO UWB PARA POSICIONAMIENTO PRECISO DE VEHÍCULOS” authored by Antonio R. Jiménez, Jorge Godoy, and Fernando Seco.

A prize of 300€ was sponsored by the robotics company ROBOTNIK.

XII Premio ABC Solidario

Los profesores Miguel Hernando y Alberto Brunete, y el alumno Koldo de Miguel, de la Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería y Diseño Industrial de la UPM, e investigadores del Centro de Automática y Robótica UPM-CSIC, han recibido el XII Premio ABC Solidario en la modalidad de Investigación Solidaria, dotado con 10.000 euros, por el proyecto «Sistema de detección de caídas para personas mayores».

El proyecto consiste en un sistema para la detección de caídas de personas mayores que viven solas basado en una cámara y un PC embebido de bajo coste
